JET TRAINING OVERVIEW TO BECOME A CERTIFIED ACADEMIC LANGUAGE PRACTIONER
Training
You will receive approximately 73 hours of instruction from an ALTA credentialed Qualified instructor in a highly acclaimed intervention curriculum. This course far exceeds the requirements for certification at the Practitioner level through ALTA. CALPs provide valuable teacher-level instruction and intervention within an education setting and contribute significantly to the education and support of individuals with dyslexia, each bringing their unique expertise to improve outcomes for students with dyslexia.

ALL of our training is done live via Zoom.
Mandatory Course Requirements
5 (7.5-hour) days of initial training:
4 (7.5- hour) additional seminars during the school day.
1 (2 hour) Orientation training
1 (4-hour) Dyslexia Basics Identification Seminar
Successfully complete 5 demonstration lessons with written critique/feedback
Reading assignments (chapter from Birsh, journals, and book report)
Other assignments, quizzes, and final exam

Training to Become a Certified Academic Language Practitioner
TRAINING FEE FOR ONE YEAR (PER PERSON)
45 hours (minimum) of direct instruction, 60 hours (minimum) of supervised teaching, 5 video demonstrations, recommendation for Practitioner level certification (CALP) once completed, on-going support after program has been completed.
